If you have a large garden with a wide green lawn area and it’s pretty plain and simple, it might be worth creating a featured area somewhere in your garden. Nothing too spectacular, just something that will great some type of separation in your garden and also provide an area for you to wander around in the warmer seasons and ponder. You can build any kind of shaped area you want, as long as it’s not too big and not too small; an idea will be something like a small maze, or a spiral type area.
Once you have an idea of the shape, you can start thinking about what you want to feature, and also the mosaic pattern you want to use for the mosaic tiles you plan to use as a path. The idea is to build the outline for path you want first, and use your imagination about where you want to path to go, whether it be some type of spiral or maze; remember to also visualise the featured parts along side the paths, and between the paths and take them both into consideration.
You can use a series of hedges, garden boxed areas, a small fountain, a series of small ponds, stone seating, small statues and even bridges over ponds, with loads of all year round flowers scattered lovingly in a controlled pattern around the featured area.
